Support the California Referendum
Amazon filed a petition for a referendum in California. This is a chance to block this law and get affiliates back in business within 90 days. If you are a California registered voter – we need your help!
What is a Referendum?
It’s a process available in California where a law can be brought to the citizens for vote. If enough signatures are gathered within 90 days of the law going into effect (from June 30, 2011), the law is immediately halted. It then goes onto the next ballot for California citizens to vote on, most likely in June, 2012.
Why is a Referendum Being Sought?
The Affiliate Nexus Tax law was passed under a shadow of misinformation and powerful lobbying by aggressive retailers who used this legislation for competitive gains. The public needs to learn the truth and decide with their votes.
How Does This Impact Affiliates?
When the referendum is recognized and the law is halted, California affiliates can be reinstated by their out-of-state merchants. It means you can get back to business!
