Thought Leadership

The PMA addresses the most pressing issues and trends facing the performance marketing industry, and is committed to bringing you the most up-to-date information that impacts your business, whether you’re an advertiser, publisher, network or agency.

“It is important to understand the issues that affect our industry. Many people are surprised to learn how much we have to gain by championing the value of performance marketing,” Brook Schaaf, CEO and co-founder, Schaaf Consulting.

The PMA gives performance marketers a unified voice to address issues and challenges facing the industry, such as the “advertising tax” proposed in some states. The PMA investigates these issues, maintains close contact with members, advertisers, legislators and news organizations to inform and educate and provide resource materials. The association also coordinates advocacy efforts, speaking on behalf of the industry – allowing its members to be heard while still focusing on their respective businesses.

“I have seen the benefits of PMA educational efforts around internet tax law. The PMA has helped to demystify the tax laws and galvanize groups of people to fight them. All online shoppers and advertisers benefit from that effort,” says Peter Figueredo, CEO and co-founder, NETexponent.

Best Practices

Memberships in the PMA gives you access to tips, tools, tricks and resources that focus on the practical implementation of strategies that will help grow your business. In addition, expert input, success stories, case studies highlight ethical methods for successful performance marketing results.

“Being part of the PMA has helped us begin to hear other perspectives around key issues in the industry that we would not typically hear from other advertisers, publishers, and networks,” says William Martin-Gill, Director, eBay Partner Network
