PMA Webinar: FTC Compliance and Performance Marketing
As part of our continuing series of monthly affiliate marketing webinars, we are doing something a little different this time. Normally our webinars feature only PMA members. This time, we are going straight to the source of the rulemaking: the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The recently released Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials has been a hot topic for affiliate marketers!
Join PMA members for a free planning webinar entitled “FTC Compliance and Performance Marketing: Understand the Rules and Your Responsibilities.” The webinar will be held via LinkedIn on October 1, 2024, at 1pm Eastern. Registration is open now and will allow you live viewing (with Q&A) plus immediate access to the video replay.
We are thankful to our sponsor for this webinar — IntegriShield.
Our featured guest for this webinar will be Michael Ostheimer.
“MICHAEL OSTHEIMER is a senior consumer protection attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Division of Advertising Practices, with over 30 years of experience. He led the FTC’s review of its Endorsement Guides and a rulemaking on deceptive consumer reviews and testimonials. He co-authored the FTC’s enforcement policy statement on native advertising and the .com Disclosures business guidance. He developed the recently released Health Products Compliance Guidance. Mr. Ostheimer has initiated numerous enforcement cases involving dietary supplement, food, high-tech product, and tobacco advertising. He graduated from Columbia Law School and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.”
The content of this webinar is aimed at anyone who works with reviews in any away–brands, agencies, publishers, influencers, etc.
Panelists will be:
- Michael Ostheimer, Federal Trade Commission
- Gayla Huber, IntegriShield
- Tricia Meyer, Performance Marketing Association
About our Sponsor: IntegriShield
IntegriShield is excited to sponsor the webinar with PMA and the FTC. We are on a mission to educate marketers on the rules to ensure compliance to protect the advertiser and the consumer experience. Testimonials are often monitored by brands looking for negative experiences or false claims by affiliates. Now more than ever, it is important to know what your affiliates are publishing and how the FTC views the content.
