PMA Council Spotlight: Coupons and Deals
Last fall we launched a new series to help everyone get to know our councils. The councils are our PMA member groups that meet monthly to talk about industry issues and create resources such as whitepapers, blog posts, and webinars.
Today we are spotlighting the Coupons and Deals Council. Click here to read more about the council, including its goals and a list of all of its members.
Mission: To create and impart a deeper understanding of the value of working with coupon and deal publishers for merchants. Through educational materials and case studies, the council plans to clearly demonstrate the proven value of coupon and deal publishers in the performance marketing equation. In addition, the council will work to develop guidelines for publishers in the space to insure that ethical standards and best practices are being followed.
This council is chaired by: Dylan Bertalli, Affiliate.com
Some of the things the council has discussed in the last year:
- Amazon’s “Buy for Me” feature and the possible impact on affiliate marketing
- Whitepaper: “Beyond the Affiliate Coupon Code: The Future of Deals and Discounts”
- Ideas for industry-wide toolbar standards
- Tracking the various “last-click lawsuits”
- Webinar: “Beyond the Affiliate Coupon Code, The Future of Deals and Discounts”
- Coupons and deals appearing in the LLMs
- Whitepaper: “Deep Dive Into the Most Controversial Attribution Models of 2025“
- Webinar: “Google’s New Extension Policy: Toolbar Compliance, Challenges & Growth Strategies“
- Whitepaper: “Coupon and Deal Affiliates: Key Drivers of E-commerce Growth”
Some words from our council members:
- Dylan Bertalli, Partner Success Manager, Affiliate.com: My favorite part by far is the industry research, this is something I personally love doing. Outside of the PMA you will never have access to deep analytical research within the affiliate space which is growing rapidly and becoming increasingly important.
- Greyden Hickle, Sr. Affiliate Manager, eAccountable: I love being a part of the council because it’s a great way to stay up to date with industry news and trends, and I enjoy collaborating and brainstorming with my peers across the industry.
- Jennifer Greene, Data Processing Team Lead, FMTC: I enjoy being part of this council because I’m surrounded by incredibly knowledgeable people. It gives me the opportunity to learn about areas of affiliate marketing outside my usual focus, broaden my perspective, and stay connected to trends across the industry.
- Joe Coyle, Director, Sales Partnerships, Slickdeals: The Coupons and Deals council enables Slickdeals to advocate for industry standards and policies that align with the perspective of publishers within our category. On a personal note, council participation allows me to connect with industry peers and bring valuable news and insights back to my larger organization.
My personal favorite thing about this council: Having spent the majority of my career running a cashback and coupon site, the issues this council discusses are of particular interest to me. Their focus is always on how to make the coupon and deal space better and more accountable industry-wide, to help lift the overall economic impact AND respect of affiliate marketing.
