Carolyn Tang Kmet
Carolyn Tang Kmet is a senior lecturer at the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago. She teaches undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in both marketing and information systems. Her research interests include leveraging geospatial information platforms to connect local needs with local resources. Her efforts helped alleviate the PPE shortage for health care entities during the COVID pandemic, and provided a prototype by which impoverished communities could independently maximize resources. In recognition of her work, she was awarded the Mission-Driven Faculty of the Year award for 2020.
Prior to this role, she was the CMO with All Inclusive Marketing, a full-service e-commerce agency that provides analytics, marketing and site optimization services for clients such as Southwest Vacations, Julep, and Fire Mountain Gems. Carolyn was previously the director of affiliate marketing for Groupon, where she helped shape global affiliate marketing strategy. Before that, Carolyn led the client services team at ShareASale.com, a Chicago-based performance marketing tracking platform, and managed affiliate marketing programs at Orbitz, CollectiblesToday.com, and MyPoints.com.
Carolyn was honored with the Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Award for Affiliate Manager of the Year 2010, and the New Advertiser of the Year 2011 award from Commission Junction. In 2018, Carolyn was honored with the Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Legend award for her contributions to the performance marketing industry.
Carolyn earned an M.B.A. from Loyola University Chicago, an M.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University, and a B.A. from University of California, Berkeley.
Chris has over 18 years experience in affiliate marketing, originally as one of the founding team at the buy.at affiliate network. The network grew to become one of the largest in the UK market, managing some of the key largest merchant programs, additionally expanding into the US market from 2006. The buy.at network was acquired by AOL, then resold two years later to Awin. After 7 years network side, he spent a year client side, setting up and managing the affiliate program for the UK based Easyspace webhosting provider, working via the CJ affiliate network.
In 2011, Chris re-joined buy.at founder Dr Steve Brown to develop the Linkdex SEO platform. They created the publisher discovery platform using the Linkdex technologies to analyze affiliate network tracking and provide a competitor affiliate analysis platform, which was used by clients worldwide, including Apple, Sonos, CJ Affiliate, Tradedoubler, Partnerize and DGM Australia. In 2016, with Linkdex being acquired by Scribble, he spun the Publisher Discovery platform as a separate company, retaining many of the key clients and growing the business further.
In later 2018, Publisher Discovery was acquired by Cloudfind, who were already providing AI technologies in the affiliate sector. The new combined company now operates under the Publisher Discovery trademark, with completely rebuilt technology driven by AI and machine learning. Partners and clients now include CJ Affiliate, TUNE, Everflow, Affiliate Future and FMTC.
On a personal note, Chris has written extensively in their blogs, Feedfront magazine and as a contributor to other publications and blogs. He has also spoken and moderated sessions at A4U (PerformanceIn) and Affiliate Summits over recent years.
